Finally! Welcome to the brand new site! I hope you like what you see and that you find it easier to navigate and locate the things you’re searching for. There’s a lot of changes, both to the design and content so be sure to take the whole tour throughout the site!
First of all, the news blog is moved. There is a feed on the front page but the main blog is now located in the header menu. I have also changed the comments section, so on all new comments I will reply with a new post and not in your post, as earlier. You’ll find my reply highlighted and attached to your comment.
The David Gilmour Gear Guide has been divided into to sections. One for the albums and tours and one for the classic gear features. The album gear guides has been updated with lots of new information and pictures, so be sure to check them out! I will also be updating the classic gear features throughout the year and adding new ones as well.
The feature section is brand new, divided into two sections – tone guides and gear maintenance. Each section includes an archive with all related posts for easy access.
I’ve added a few backingtracks as well, – Mihalis, Yet Another Movie, Wearing the Inside Out and Poles Apart. A big thanks for the contributions.
Last but not least, the Big Muff Tone Tutorial is back up and completely rewritten and packed with tips on how to achieve the Big Muff tones you’ve always wanted.
I’d be very grateful if you could report back to me if you find any links that doesn’t work or if something isn’t looking right. Thanks!
I also want to use this opportunity to thank everyone of you for your contributions over the years and for posing comments and joining in on the discussions. It’s what keeps this site alive. There are costs involved with hosting the site so if you want to make a donation, there is a Paypal donation button in the right column on the blog and contact pages. Any amount is much appreciated.
So, don’t let me keep you any longer. Enjoy the new site!
Hi Björn. Like Your videos! Question: Does david ever use the big muff stacked with the tube driver or is it always one or the other? Thanks
Christian
Thanks!
He often use Muffs with different boosters. See the Rattle That Lock tour gear guide for all the setups.

I really do want to thank you for all that you do. I have become somewhat of a gear head after I found your site. Your knowledge and research is unparalleled as far as I’m concerned. Congrats on the new site, it looks great! I do have one quick question though, is there going to be another place where we can show off our equipment on this new site?
Hi Jeff! Thanks a lot for your kind words! The gear gallery is still here :) Please feel free to send me a pick :)
How exactly do you want us to send them to you? I have two that go together
You mean the pictures? Send them copied in the mail, zipped or use a transfer service.
Great job Bjorn, I spend a lot of time here and the new format makes browsing easier, I like it !!!!
Thank you Gary!
merci beacoup bjorn
Merci!
The best just got even better! Great job, Bjorn
Thanks, Matt!
Hey from Russia! Thank you very much for such and informative and lively web-site! I’ve discovered gilmourish.com recently searching some infos on old Muff’s, so I ocassionally stopped by and stayed forever! It’s one of favourite resourses on the web now, on a daily basis. The new version of the site seems itriguing, I’ll take my time to surf through all the sections. Being a Pink Floyd fan for life and a musician myself (G.A.S. included) it’s a priceless treasure to discover so much about those magical tones and sounds. Awesome! Exhaustive! Thank you for doing this. Keep it up! Cheers!
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Roman! Glad you enjoy the site :)
Hello again Bjorn. This is a test with another email to see if it will post and not go the spam filter.
Please answer me here I will comeback to see if it’s working.
Thank you.
Works fine :)
All right Bjorn, we are back in business, thank you. Get ready, I have one year of comments and advices for you… Lolll :-D
Bring it on :)
Hi Bjorn,
Amazing job with that new site. Always a pleasure to read you. Keep on ‘Gilmouring’ in a free world!
Friendly, and wishing you the best for Airbag and your solo career!
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Sebastien!
The new site has a lot of information, and there are definitely things I like about it, and I will get used to the changes that I am having issues with. However, I have always used my phone, and the mobile site is very difficult to maneuver. I have to use the desktop site on my phone to get close to the experience that was the old site. When on the mobile site, I can’t simply scroll down to recent comments, and there is no comments heading on the mobile menu. You know how fond I am of you, and how loyal of a Gilmourish reader I am, so I think you’d rather me be honest, than say ,” It’s great, I love it!” I think I’d find the full site, on my PC quite nice, but I rarely use my computer for anything other than recording. I’ve never liked drop down menus, and the mobile site is navigated that way. I will get used to it, and really understand the reasons behind the completely different firm the site has taken, but maybe a tutorial on navagating the mobile site would help? I really miss the home page header, and graphics, and the full width page. The content is fantastic, however, the mobile experience is not as intuitive, or as unique as the old home page. Still will be here evwry morning, and will likely fall in love with the new format, but everyone seems to have nothing negative to say, so tjey must be confusing constructive criticism, with being mean, something I would never be to my friend Bjorn. I am just being honest, because that’s what friends do. I did not want to write this, and hope I haven’t hurt your feelings, because that was not my intention, which I’m sure you know.
Much Love, Keith
Hi Keith, thanks for your feedback. The site is using a WordPress responsive platform, designed to fit both PC, iPads and smart phones. The previous template that I used did not and it was only luck that it looked OK on phones. A responsive site is meant to behave and look differently on different media. The theme I’m using is displaying two different mobile setups. One that’s only showing the blog, with a menu at the top. Underneath each post, you’ll find the comments section. You can also find a link to the full site if you scroll all the way down to the bottom. I appreciate your comment but I’m afraid it’s just a part of the new site and design. Hopefully you’ll get used to it :)
I’m aure I will get used to it, I think my problem is that I’m old, and set in my ways, and miss what I thought was the most beautiful home page, and header of any site on the net, but Graphics aren’t the purpose if the site, and there is a great deal of new, and important information! I definitely love that part of the upgrade!! I’ll get used to the changes. I see I’m ginna have to change my name though, two Keith’s could confuse people, and I’d feel bad for the other Keith uf anyone thought my ling silly posts were his! Hahaha!
Peace Brother, Keith ” Uncle Ebb”
Well, the content is what’s important isn’t it :) Anyway, hope you get used to it.
Hi bjorn, amazing new site keep up the good work as always and, succes for your airbag…greetings from indonesia – desmon abeh
Thanks, Desmon!
Hey Bjorn, like the site. However I am now unable to zoom in and out on my ipad while on your site. Is this intentional?
Hi Keith, it works nicely on my iPad… at least as I expect it to. Is this on all of the site?
The new site looks great! I haven’t come across any broken links so far. :)
Thanks, James!
I have just thought of one thing – it’d perhaps be cool to include links to the old “Classic Tones” pages in the “Features” section. They were great pages and it would be a shame to loose them!
Hi James! Thanks for the tip! The features are still on the site. You can either do a search or see the category list on the blog. I do agree with you though so I’ll look into it.
Cool! I’m sure it was a helluva work…
Thanks!
Hi Bjorn,
New site is great, a lot of work.
I miss the “post your pedalboard” page though, but I guess all the pics take lot of bandwidth.
Cheers
Hi! The gallery page is still here :) There’s a banner on the front page.
I just want to say thank you. The information you provide us is not only educational but also entertaining.
Thank you, Alberto!
Looking great Bjorn!
Thank you!
Thank you for your efforts Bjorn. With a family, band and solo work commitments, it takes a extraordinary selfless person to keep updating this site and replying to and helping folks out.
You are a class act.
Thanks a lot for your kind words, Huy! I have a patient family :)
Hello Bjorn. Wow!!! Fantastic job on the new website. I love it.
If I can maybe go with a suggestion. About the Classic tones, there are not available via the menu.
When I did a research this is what I found…
Archives is also not available via the different menu. Classic tones is a very good section.
Cheers from Canada :-)
p.s. I hope my message will be posted. I have been trying for months and it is not working.
Hi Luc, I found this comment in the spam filter so that may be the answer to why your previous comments has never been posted. Seems that your email address is being picked up as spam. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. The Classic Tones articles are available in the categories list on the blog but there should be a menu option or banner on the front page as well. I’ll look into it.
Hi Bjorn! I’m glad to be the first! Great job, I like the new site a lot! I’ve seen that you have updated the gear section with new settings. I would just give you an extra tip if possible. In the pulse settings for comfortably numb there’s just a little error in the final.
The waving part is this:
CS2–TD1–CIVIL WAR–PCM70–2290–DOPPOLAS–CE2LEFT
And immediately after the waving part, when he starts with the last bendings, he swithes off the PCM70 and swithes on the MXR, exactly as you described. I’m quite sure about this, you can verify in the philadelphia gig (philly) in youtube.
Good job Bjorn!
Matteo
Thanks Matteo! The setups I’ve listed in the PULSE section are used with permission from the Tone From Heaven site. The effects used for the “waving” part are taken from a specific show and I’m sure David would change things around throughout the tour. I’ll look into it. Thanks!
New site looking good Bjorn! Thanks for all the information and tips! Keep up the good work! Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks, Felipe!
The new site is very sick, thanks for being a great resource over the years!
Thank you, Brad!
Excellent revamp, and welcome back Bjorn! We sure have missed the site, but it was well the wait.
Thanks, Jeff!
