yes I think David Gilmour was just as important as Waters , ya waters may have wrote a lot of the songs but David Gilmour really knew how to bring them to life , as far as playing hes a GOD , maybe that’s why theres a bit of a rub between him and Waters , everyone should tweet Roger Waters and ask him why does he to make a point of saying David Gilmour and him are not friends , , if I had a band that had someone like David Gilmour in it ,I,d make sure we were friends cause you don,t want to lose something that great ,, Rock on David Gilmour may your playing play on you crazy dimond
Unreal site! I have been reading the site, great info, and expert information. Really appreciate this community of musicians and fans.
Thanks for your kind words Bobby! Glad you like the site!
Thank you for reigniting my passion to play guitar. Although I was heavily involved in a rock band in the 60’s and 70’s, I quit playing to get married and finish college. Now as I am retiring, my new hobby is learning to play better than before. My goal is to reach your level of proficiency as quickly as possible, but you sound like you have been playing for 20 years or more!
Your study of tone and effects is deep and must take a lot of work. Thanks for such a great website, I look forward to more information and entertainment!
Albert in California
Hi Albert! Thanks a lot for you kind words! Glad you enjoy my site. I started playing guitar in my early teens… I’m 40 now :) Cheers!
Time flies. I’m not as active on Gilmourish anymore as I’ve ‘moved’ on from him but your website and bjornriis.com is still on my bookmarks bar and something I visit quite often.
Your My Gear section on Bjornriis.com is just wonderful.
Thank you! That site will get a full update before the summer so stick around :)
David Gilmour, profound playing and expression. Saw DSOM concert in 70’s also wish u were here
couple years later in Oakland. Still the best to date, all bands should look up. Wow.
Nelson J. Guitarist. Peace.
Many thanks for your tireless dedication to making your site so informative and in depth. Your tips and insights are a valuable resource for many like myself.
Thank you Roger!
Awesome information and very inspiring!!!
I’m fascinated with anything to do with Gilmour and Floyd.
I am 50 years old. Have been listening to David since I was 15. I just came across an old Gild acoustic and I am going to learn how to play. I may neve sound like him but dammit I am going to try.
Thank you for the add Bjorn. Only 19 years old but already a sickly obsessed Floydiac with a good knowledge of Gilmour’s tones from all eras. Was at Pompeii on the 7th of July and if you’d like an in depth review of the concert with some info on his tones and effects I’d be happy to oblige!
Thanks for the kind words, Marcus! You’re so lucky to have been there! I’ll let you know about a review :)
Very cool site! #TexasPinkFloyd
I dont play guitar..
But love reading your posts!
“The King Of The Strings” !!!
Can’t adequately explain how inspiring Mr. Gilmour is to me, and how perhaps your website feeds people like us to heights never before realized.
Thanks for all your dedication. I for one appreciate your labor of love. Looking forward to the newsletters anxiously.
Thanks a lot for your kind words!
